OGDEN — Work to replace a city pipeline through the Ogden Canyon will be suspended for Valentine’s Day.
Utah Department of Transportation spokesman Vic Saunders said the canyon road will open today, as many area residents are expected to patronize restaurants and other establishments in Ogden Canyon and the Ogden Valley for the holiday.
Ogden city is replacing a nearly century-old waterline in the canyon, much of which runs down the middle of State Route 39, the Ogden Canyon Road.
Crews close the canyon highway to all traffic nightly to speed the replacement of the line and reduce daily impacts to motorists as much as is possible. The project is slated to be completed by early June.
