Thumbs up: To a bill in the Utah House that would provide protective orders for those in dating relationships. It's long past time to extend these protections to people who do not co-habit with the abuser.
Thumbs down: To Olympic officials who wish to eliminate wresting as an Olympics sport. Wrestling is one of the pioneer sports of the Olympics. This action makes no sense and we hope it's changed.
Thumbs up: To a bill in the Utah House that would provide free any documents that are determined to be of value to the public. This common-sense proposal comes after Democrats were threatened with very high fees while trying to get redistricting documents released to the public.
Thumbs down: To a Washington County School District policy that barred a girl from school because officials didn't like her hair color. District officials embarrassed themselves with this act. Anyone who looks at Rylee MacKay, and her attractive red hair, will scratch their heads at the district's odd reasoning.
Thumbs up: To reports that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is talking with state leaders over endorsing an anti gay-bias law. Regardless of one's personal beliefs on homosexuality, no one should be discriminated against for being gay or lesbian.
Thumbs down: To a bill in the Utah Legislature that would attempt to put the state of Utah law above any federal law on firearms. It's a silly bill derived in paranoia and it also would violate the U.S. Constitution.
