OGDEN — The YMCA of Northern Utah, Dee Elementary and Ogden High School will have a coat and winter clothing drive for sixth-grade Dee Elementary students who have been rewarded with Wolf Mountain Ski Passes.
All 40 sixth-graders at Dee Elementary School are being rewarded for increased test scores and positive academic behavior by officials at Wolf Mountain with free ski passes to the resort Feb. 28.
The sixth-grade class was where the most improvement was seen, according to a press release from YMCA of Northern Utah.
“The problem is that most of the students do not have adequate winter clothing for a ski trip,” states the release. “Because of this, the YMCA Community Coordinator at Dee Elementary has organized a Coat and Winter Clothing Drive.”
Snow pants, warm socks, coats and gloves are the needed items.
Donations can be dropped off at Dee Elementary, 550 22nd St.; Ogden High School’s main office, 2828 Harrison Blvd.; YMCA of Northern Utah administrative offices, 893 24th St., Suite 200; and Wolf Mountain, 3567 Nordic Valley Way, in Eden.
For information, call the YMCA of Northern Utah at 801-680-0494.
