Editor,
Saturday, Feb. 16, I attended the Banff film festival at Peery’s Egyptian Theater. The films were enjoyable and there was a comradeship to the event.
At the same time, I couldn’t help but acknowledge a certain uneasiness I felt about the subject of continually pursuing adventure. As a Christian I want to share Jesus’ passionate pursuits. And from what I see in the Bible, that means serving others. This point felt driven home at the end of the evening.
After the films, as the upbeat crowd streamed from the theater, we were instantly sobered when a truck hit three pedestrians. It reminded me, if things can change in an instant, how would this change my passions and pursuits this week or even today? I want my energy to go to things that hold eternal value.
