PROVO -- A 40-year-old dump truck driver is dead after his vehicle veered off a bridge in Provo and landed upside down on the street below.
Authorities haven't yet released the name of the driver, who was pronounced dead after he was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Provo police Lt. Matt Siufanua says the truck was traveling north on University Avenue when it veered into other lanes of traffic, hit a barrier, and then flipped over the bridge.
The truck was carrying dirt and gravel and fell about 30 feet down. It was removed by Sunroc, the company that owns it.
Investigators were looking into why the driver lost control.
