Syracuse High locked down after report of man with rifle

SYRACUSE — Syracuse High School was in lockdown for about 15 minutes while police searched for a man who was reported to be walking near the school with a concealed rifle.

Syracuse Police Chief Garret Atkin said the call was received at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Officers from several agencies arrived and searched the area, but they did not find anyone matching the description.

The school is located at 700 South and 2000 West.
