BOZEMAN, Mont. -- After five regular season meets the Weber State men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the 2013 Big Sky Conference indoor track and field championships this weekend in Bozeman, Mont. All 11 Big Sky schools will compete at the meet.

The championships began with the women's pentathlon Thursday. The men's heptathlon will be Friday morning. The rest of the meet will start Friday afternoon. There will be finals in 11 events on Friday along with preliminaries in many running events. The remaining 22 events will be concluded on Saturday.

The Wildcats women's team will be looking to repeat as conference champions. The Wildcats won the 2012 indoor title by just one point over Sacramento State, but the Hornets seem to be the favorite this year heading into the conference meet. Heading into the meet Weber State leads the women's side in one event and has two other spots in the top three in the conference. Senior Sarah Callister, who won two events and was second in another event at the championship meet last year, has the best time in the conference in the 5,000 meters and the fourth best time in the 3,000 meters. Callister won the 3,000 meters and the 5,000 meters at the conference meet last year and was second in the mile and was named the MVP of the meet.

Freshman Jamie Stokes has the second best time in the conference in the mile run and Callister is fourth, though she will not run in the mile this year. Weber State also has the third best time in the Big Sky in the 1,600 meter relay.

The Wildcat women's team has won nine Big Sky indoor titles under coach Jim Blaisdell.

On the men's side, the Wildcats will have a full squad of 22 athletes competing at the championships, under the direction of coach Dan Walker.

Coming into the conference meet the Wildcats lead the Big Sky in one event with senior Cylor Morgan ranking first in the conference and 17th in the nation in the long jump. Morgan posted a career best jump of 24-8.25 at the Wildcat Indoor Invitational last Saturday, the third best in school history.

WSU's Mike Hardy has the third best time in the conference in the 3,000 meters and the fourth best time in the mile run. Weber State also has the third best time in the 1600 meters. WSU ranks in the top five in the conference in five other events.

Weber State has won five Big Sky indoor titles in its history. The Wildcats finished fifth at the conference meet last year.
