Audit of city’s cemetery goes well

PLAIN CITY — A recent audit by the state of the city’s cemetery went well Councilman Brent White says.

“They compared us with the Salt Lake City Cemetery, the largest municipal cemetery in the state,” White said. “After the audit, they felt like small cemetery districts could do better record keeping and said the process we use is probably better than others they have casually audited.”

White said Salt Lake City was not really a fair baseline with which to compare Plain City, but said the audit still came out well and the cemetery is in good shape with little paid staff running it.
