FARMINGTON -- CSA Utah is hosting two community-supported agriculture open house events as a way of giving consumers a chance to meet farmers and learn more about CSA programs for 2013.
Open houses will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.Thursday at the Davis County Administration Building, the building south of the Davis County Courthouse and connected to the Davis County Library, Room 131-A, 61 S. Main St., Farmington, and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 5 at Wheeler Farm, in the Activity Barn, 6351 S. 900 East.
CSA is a partnership between a specific farm, or group of farms and consumers. Members, or "shareholders," share the spring start-up costs and summer rewards of farming.
The CSA open houses are free to the public. CSA shoppers are encouraged to come ready to buy a share to secure their membership in their preferred CSA, and to take advantage of early season discounts. For more information about the open house or to research local CSA programs, visit
