Clarene Clifton Critchlow of Ogden celebrated her 80th birthday with her family at a private dinner.
She was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Ogden to George C. and Mary T. Clifton. She married Robert Taylor Critchlow on Sept. 1, 1955, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
She received an associate degree from Weber State College and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. She owned, operated and taught at Critchlow's Little Red School House from 1965 until the fall of 2012.
She has held various positions in the LDS Church as Primary president, served in Relief Society presidencies and taught in various auxiliaries. She and her husband also served an LDS mission in Bowling Green, Ky. She has been involved in her community and served as a PTA president.
Their children and spouses are Clifton and Chris Critchlow, Kent and Marilyn Critchlow, Ann and Brad Rabe, Cathy Johns, Steven and Cathie Critchlow, David and Sarah Critchlow, and Amy and Darrin Wilde.
They have 31 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
