OGDEN -- While Utah is still experiencing long nights, gray skies and blankets of snow, there's a bit of a spring vibe in the air.

The Standard-Examiner Spring Home & Garden show is just around the corner. The semiannual event, which is the largest trade show north of Salt Lake City, will be held at the Golden Spike Events Center on March 1-3.

The event will feature more than 200 vendor booths, said Jennifer Thorpe, who works in the Standard-Examiner promotions department. The booths will include everything from bath and kitchen remodeling, windows, roofing, awnings and patio covers, waterfalls, vacuum cleaners, heating and air, fireplaces, hot tubs and spas and even home-preparedness ideas.

"Spring is the perfect time to start working on home-improvement products and refresh your home's landscaping," Thorpe said. "It's a great place to check out products, compare services and prices and have your questions answered by experts."

The Utah State University extension service and Weber County will be on hand throughout the three-day event with master gardeners available to help answer specific landscape and garden questions.

"We will have hourly demonstrations at the show," Thorpe said. "The seminars and demos will cover a variety of home, garden and spring related topics, including do-it-yourself projects, gardening and Dutch oven cooking."

Admission to this year's show is $3, or you can use the Standard-Examiner coupon for 2 for $5. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Golden Spike Events Center is at 1000 N. 1200 West in Ogden.
