Jozef and Elizabeth Evenhuis

Jozef and Elizabeth Evenhuis of Ogden will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with family at a private party on Feb. 26.

They were married on Feb. 26, 1948, in Groningen, Holland. Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on July 30, 1963.

He was born in Groningen, Holland, on April 28, 1922. He brought his family from Holland to the United States in 1952, first settling in Salt Lake City. After moving to Ogden, he worked for the Ogden School District for 20 years, retiring in April 1983. His interests include walking, reading and watching soccer.

She was born in Groningen, Holland, on June 8, 1926. She worked for Intermountain Health Care McKay-Dee Hospital for 32 years, retiring in April 1987. Her interests include puzzles, reading and spending time with family.

Both are active members of the LDS Church and served a two-year mission in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Their children and spouses are Ben and Judy Evenhuis, Ogden; and Hank and Tina Evenhuis, Marriott-Slaterville. They have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
