RIVERDALE -- Police are trying to identify a woman whose body was found Wednesday morning at a construction site in Riverdale.
The owner of a four-plex, at 1751 W. 4800 South, that was undergoing renovation arrived at 9:30 a.m. and found the body, said Police Lt. James Ebert.
"We're right now treating it as a suspicious death," Ebert said.
Ebert said the Caucasian woman was in her late 50s and was dressed in pajama pants, a fleece top and shoes. She had shoulder-length brown/blonde hair. It appeared she died sometime between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., possibly from exposure.
Ebert said the woman did not appear to be a transient. There were tracks in the snow leading to the body that indicate the woman may have lived in the area. However, there are no reports of a missing person from the area and it does not appear there was any foul play, Ebert said.
The state medical examiner's office will do an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The Weber County Homicide Task Force was called in to help with the investigation.
