KAYSVILLE -- The south side of 200 North in west Kaysville will soon have its first commercial business.
After an hour of public comment regarding the issue, the city council recently approved the rezone of 0.53 acres of vacant land at 1051 West 200 North from residential to professional business. The owners intend to develop the property into a dentist's office.
This area of the city has long been exclusively residential. Several nearby residents opposed any zoning changes, and voiced concerns that it could invite future commercial development. Most of the city council and several other neighbors felt that the land was not viable as a residential property, and that a medical office was a workable option.
