Editor,
I am the owner of a small engineering business and have lived in Utah for 12 years. While travelling recently, I was told by some of my engineering colleges: “We have considered moving to Utah at various times, but have heard the air quality is very poor.” My response was factual: The air is terrible. If you care about the health of your family and your employees; do not move your business here.
The Utah legislature now wants to have control of federal land to pollute the environment even further; new permits for refinery expansions are being approved; EPA regulations are actively opposed. Anyone who questions these flawed environmental policies is called an extremist by the Legislature and the governor.
So, Governor Herbert, please say something meaningful about this at the upcoming economic summit. There are many engineers and scientists willing to help you, but you need to listen.
