OGDEN — It’s hard to imagine the state 4-A championship game today topping Friday’s semifinals.
But it’s entirely possible.
Sky View’s Jalen Moore swished a half-court shot at the buzzer to lift the Bobcats into the title game with a 63-60 heart-stopping overtime win over Bountiful on Friday in the last game of the day at the Dee Events Center.
Sky View will meet cross-county rival Mountain Crest at 4 p.m. for the state title at the Dee Events Center.
Lone Peak and Alta will play for the 5-A title at 1:30 p.m.
The Mustangs played a heart-stopper of their own, battling back from a deficit to turn back rival Logan 54-51.
Moore and Matt Dewey scored 18 points each while teammate Ty Nielsen had 14. Bountiful’s Sam Merrill scored 35 points for the Braves.
• MOUNTAIN CREST 54, LOGAN 51: At Ogden, the Mustangs overcame a 14-point first-half deficit, then went on a 9-0 run in the final period.
