UINTAH -- Members of Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church are down to a few dozen tickets for their fun-filled day for women and girls that also will raise money to help fight sex trafficking.
The event is a community fashion show, silent auction and conference to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 16, at the church, 6545 Combe Road in Uintah. Registration and a breakfast of pastries will begin at 8 a.m. Those wishing to attend are encouraged to purchase a $10 ticket as soon as possible.
"People as a whole want to get involved and help," Chrystal Zidon, fashion show director, said. "A problem like (sex trafficking) seems so big and overwhelming. When you give people an avenue, that they can come and enjoy themselves, then they feel like they've done something."
Those wishing to purchase tickets may call the church at 801-479-1052 or call Zidon at 801-725-7939. Tickets also are available on the church's website: www.ccfutah.org.
Organizers hope to make the event an annual attraction that will contribute to a number of different organizations that fight against the sex trade industry.
