Editor,
I just finished reading the Feb. 28 article, “Shelter’s clients plead for safer way to cross street.” Please are pleading for a solution to the unsafe area that they have to use. Further on down the article it spoke of UDOT’s wanting to study the situation. You’ll have to excuse my thinking, but what kind of a study? The fact is people are being killed and a dozen men injured! How about a simple painted crosswalk?
I imagine that the clients of St. Anne’s wouldn’t even mind helping to paint the lines on the street. I believe that a formal study of this matter involves a waste of time, money, and energy. Let’s try to be a little more human and less political about simple fixes like these.
