Company claims Weber County won’t pay for river work

OGDEN — A company has filed suit claiming Weber County owes $103,575 for Weber River flood abatement work in October 2011.

Silver Dome, LLC, doing business as Bolcan-Silver Dome, recently filed the breach of contract suit in 2nd District Court. Silver Dome is also seeking attorney fees, associated costs and interest.

The lawsuit states that in September 2011, Weber County officials requested Silver Dome to perform flood abatement work on the Weber River.

Weber County paid Silver Dome for work completed through Oct. 6, but has refused to pay for work from Oct. 7 to Oct 31., according to the suit.

Deputy Weber County Attorney Christopher F. Allred said the county paid Bolcan $89,954 for flood abatement work on the Weber River completed through Oct. 26, but never requested that Silver Dome, which he described as a separate company, undertake any dredging.

Bolcan-Silver Dome are affiliated companies, said Jay R. Mohlman, a Bountiful attorney representing Siver Dome.
