DRAPER -- Draper police say a convicted felon is no longer a person of interest in the death of 15-year-old girl a year ago.
Police released a statement Wednesday saying they've ruled out Daniel Robert Ferry in the death of Anne Kasprzak, who was found in the Jordan River on March 11, 2012.
Officials say the effort to find Kasprzak's killer remains the department's highest priority.
Ferry was initially arrested on suspicion of murdering the teen, but was never charged in connection with the killing.
Ferry gave a jailhouse interview to The Salt Lake Tribune several months later, saying he is "no angel," but he does "not kill little girls."
At the time of the interview, he was serving a sentence of up to 15 years on unrelated kidnapping and drug charges.
