Multiple charges filed against suspected Brigham bank robber

BRIGHAM CITY — A man accused of robbing a bank in Brigham City before stealing a car at gunpoint is facing a litany of charges.

Documents filed Tuesday in 1st District Court in Brigham City show Brad Beasley, 29, of Ogden, has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, first-degree felonies; two counts of disarming a police officer, first degree felonies; failure to stop at the command of a police officer, a third-degree felony; and assault against a police officer, a class A misdemeanor.

Beasley is accused of robbing the Chase Bank, 101 S. Main St., on Feb. 26. According to a probable cause statement, Beasley entered the bank wearing a mask and gloves before demanding money from two bank tellers and telling them he had a gun.

After the tellers complied, Beasley left the bank and stashed the bag of money before car-jacking a pickup truck at gunpoint, according to the probable cause statement. He crashed the pickup shortly after, then bit officers trying to arrest him and reached for their guns, the document states.

Beasley’s arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
