Metal objects found in doughnuts at Draper Smith's store

DRAPER — police are investigating after three people who bought doughnuts at Smith’s store reported finding sharp metal inside.

Authorities say they responded about 8 p.m. Wednesday after the trio reported buying the pastries at a Smith’s grocery store.

The people told police that while they were eating the doughnuts, one of them bit onto something hard and found a triangular piece of sharp metal.

Officials say two of the people sought medical attention. Their conditions weren’t available.

Police notified the store about the find. They’re investigating the incident as an assault.
