Veteran, wife touched by restaurant patron's kind generosity

Editor,

My husband and I went to restaurant in Layton Thursday for lunch. As we were enjoying our meal, a gentlemen came to our table and said, “Excuse me for disturbing you.” My husband was wearing a Vietnam veterans hat). He asked my husband if he was really a Vietnam veteran. My husband told him “yes he was. He thanked my husband for keeping his family safe. I was so moved by this.  After we finished our meal our waitress came to our table and said that the same gentlemen paid for our lunch and that he did that quite often to the military and retirees. I got really emotional because I know what my husband has been through. The gentlemen did not want us to know his name. I just want to say “thank you so much.”
