Man dead after West Valley shooting

WEST VALLEY CITY -- Police say a man in his 40s is dead after an overnight shooting in West Valley City.

Sgt. Jason Hauer of the West Valley City Police Department says officers responded about 11:30 p.m. Sunday to the 2300 block of South Redwood Road.

Officers say they found the man dead of at least one gunshot wound on the floor just inside the house.

Police say nobody had been arrested as of Monday morning.

Hauer says the home is divided up and rented to as many as 10 people. He says it appears a resident inside the house heard shots and called police.
