Mary Walker Boman of Ogden celebrated her 80th birthday at a family dinner at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant on March 9.
She was born March 12, 1933, in Ogden to Orren and Caroline Walker.
She was educated in Ogden schools and is a graduate of Ogden High School. She also graduated from Weber State College with an associate degree in accounting and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University.
She married Dean “W” Boman on May 3, 1957, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. They had three children before his death on June 9, 1963.
She worked as an accountant for Wheelwright Lumber Co. and at Automotive Supply Co. for 35 years.
She is an active member of the LDS Church and has served in many callings, including many years in the Young Women’s organization and as ward Relief Society president.
She is involved in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and has served as company president. She volunteers at the Ogden Regional genealogical library. She has spent many hours at ball games, watching her children and grandchildren compete, and can often be found rooting at one of their various sporting events.
Her children and their spouses are Scott and LeAnn Boman, Layton; Rex and LouJean Boman, Layton; and Mike and Cindy Hillstrom, Huntsville. She has 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
