PROMONTORY — ATK received a contract for the Rocket Systems Launch Program Peacekeeper and Minuteman Solid Rocket Motors Aging Surveillance and Motor Disposal efforts.

Employees at ATK’s Promontory and Magna facilities will participate in the project.

The U.S. Air Force Space Development and Test Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., awarded the contract, which has a value of up to $81 million.

The contract is a one-year effort for ongoing aging surveillance for both Minuteman and Peacekeeper motors, but has the potential for up to four annual extensions through November 2017.

ATK would provide component dissection, motor plugging, propellant properties testing and hazards analysis, as well as overall program support.
