OGDEN -- The Board of Commissioners of Weber County approved the 2013 RAMP grant recommendations Tuesday.
This year, the county will give out $2.8 million in funding to benefit 86 programs in the county in three categories: arts and museum, recreation and parks, and major projects.
This year's major projects include $323,963 for Pleasant View's Shady Lane park expansion and $294,413 for Rohmer Park upper road parking lot.
The RAMP committee previously allocated $300,000 a year to help with expansion of The Ice Sheet. In the end, The Ice Sheet will receive about $2 million over the next few years.
The Recreation, Arts, Museums and Parks Committee made a request to approve the recommendations during the commission's regular weekly meeting.
RAMP EZ grants will still need to be approved in April.
Funds for RAMP come from a tax, that uses one cent for every $10 spent in the county. The committee uses the funds to help nonprofit organizations that have been in the county for at least three years.
