I recently heard on a radio talk show that the Chinese don't really want to be a friend of the U.S. Duh. Neither do Africans or Middle Easterners; it's strictly business only.
Many South Americans love us. Can you blame them? They know there are deep cultural divides that can't be mended, but they have something to offer to Americans. It's up to the U.S. It's like, "Yes, we like you but we're not the same and never will be."
I hate to admit it, but sticking with your own race or ethnic group is more compatible than living on a precipice. The U.S. is a melting pot of beautiful people of all colors, and we still can't "all get along."
