Garnett S. Wolverton Price of Bear River City will be honored for her 80th birthday. Her children will host an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. on March 30 at the Bear River City Church. No gifts; shared memories are welcomed.
She was born in Plymouth on March 29, 1933, to Ilene Steed and Leonard Wolverton. She married DeLown “Jake” Price of Tremonton on June 16, 1949, in Tremonton.
Growing up in Plymouth and Tremonton, she learned the value of work at a young age. The oldest daughter of a service family, she cared for a younger sister and the family home while her mother worked and father served in the Navy during World War II. She enjoyed cleaning and many ladies in the valley requested her services. Aside from cleaning, she isknown by family and friends for her needlework.
After her marriage, they made their home in Garland, where they started a family and she served in Primary and Relief Society for many years before moving the family to Bear River City in 1968. There shecontinues her service in Relief Society.
Her family includes three sons, two daughters and their spouses: Wendell and Estelle Price, Hal Price, LaDee and Becky Price, Ryla and Stan Haramoto, and KellyLynn and Danny Trammell. She has 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
