I read the article of March 25, "Simulation teachers students about living in poverty," and agree most heartily. I would like to add a few last things.
My fiancee and I live in poverty. I make $8.00 per hour and I'm hoping to get 40 hours per week. She can not get to work except by walking, which is difficult with her job. I had a felony eight years ago, a one-time mistake. She owes child-support and has health problems. We pray day to day.
Thanks go to the Standard-Examiner for making this known. It is not easy with bus fares going up. Rents and end-of-winter months' utilities are high.
