The Darts earned team titles at the Davis Super Meet last week.
Now they'll see if they can take the show on the road.
Davis will compete against the rest of Davis County track and field teams on Tuesday and Wednesday at Syracuse High School. Action begins at 3 p.m. each day.
Meanwhile, Utah State will host the Cache-Box Invitational on Thursday and Friday at Maughan Track Stadium. The competition begins at 4 p.m. each day.
The City-County Championships is set for April 3-4.
In the Davis Super Meet, the Darts topped Viewmont and Fremont for the girls title. Viewmont's Karrie Pead won the 100, 200 and 400, while Davis' Christine Van Brocklin was a double winner in the hurdles. The Darts also got win sfrom Shea Martinez in the 800, and Chelsey Johnson in the 3,200 meters.
In the boys team chase, Davis topped Riverton and Weber for the title.
The Darts' Marcus Daley won the high jump and long jump. Davis also got wins from Seth Fortin (100) and Jackson Sagers (800).
Weber's Ryan Liston won the 300 hurdles, while Bountiful's Connor Jensen won the 110 hurdles. The Warriors' Kyson Filiaga claimed the discus.
Utah Valley University will host the Hal Wing Invitational on Saturday at its new track facility.
wild in Phoenix
Ogden High's Jordon Cross set a pair of school records last Saturday at the Chandler High Invitational in Phoenix.
In a field of eliter runners from around the sed, Cross was second in the 1,600 in 4:10.97 -- currently the third fastest mark in the nation -- then ran a 9:19 in the 3,200 meters.
Springville's Nawahine honored
Malia Nawahine of Springville High is 2012-13 Gatorade Utah girls basketball player of the year. The 5-foot-10 senior guard/forward led the Red Devils to a 25-0 record and the state 4-A championship this past season. Nawahine averaged 18.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
She has signed a letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at the University of Utah this fall. Nawahine is a candidate for the national player of the year award.
