FARMINGTON -- State library enhancement funds will be used by Davis County to fill its library shelves with new reading materials.
On Tuesday, the Davis County Commission agreed to receive a grant of $38,962 from the State of Utah Library Division.
The money, from the Community Library Enhancements Fund, will be used to improve library materials, mainly to buy e-books for the county's library system, Davis County Library Director Chris Sanford told the commission.
The condition for accepting the state money, Sanford said, is the funds have to be expended before mid-June.
Davis County has six library branches throughout the county.
Branch locations are in Clearfield, Syracuse, Layton, Bountiful, Centerville and Kaysville, with a main library headquarters in Farmington.
