FARMINGTON -- The Davis County Commission has awarded a bid to Jordan Valley Construction to rebuild a stretch of 850 West in the Bountiful area. The commission took the action at its Tuesday weekly meeting.
The construction company submitted a low bid of $271,863 for the work to take place from 3800 South to 4100 South in the Bountiful area, Davis County Public Works Director Kirk Schmalz said. Jordan Valley Construction was one of five companies to submit bids for the work, Schmalz said.
The road rebuild is expected to begin in April, with an estimated completion date of September 2013.
The county oversees a network of roads in the area known as the Val Verde subdivision, Schmalz said, and it has already upgraded over the past few years roughly 70 percent of those roads.
The county will eventually get its entire network of roads in that area "spiffed-up," he said.
