Sequester illustrates views of 'selfless' statesmen

Thomas Sowell recently described a hypothetical government agency with only two functions: produce statues of Benedict Arnold and provide life-saving medication for children. He then posed and interesting question: When belt tightening becomes necessary, where are the budget cuts made?  Apparently with sequestration, our selfless statesmen and the bureaucrats who work under their direction continue to crank out statues of Benedict Arnold and are letting the children die.
