ROY — Police say a man was lucky to walk away from a motorcycle wreck with minor cuts and bruises.
Dalton Gullo, 20, of West Haven, said he was riding south on Midland Drive around 5:30 p.m. when a black car going north cut him off by turning left at the 2700 West intersection.
Gullo tried to swerve into the center lane but lost control of his motorcycle, clipped a car ahead of him and skidded through the northbound lane.
No northbound traffic was coming. The motorcycle ended up tangled in a barbed-wire fence on the east side of Midland Drive. Gullo had a few bruises, and his right arm was scraped, but he was otherwise OK. The motorcycle had damage on its right side.
“He was pretty fortunate,” Roy Police Sgt. Shane Hubbard said. “It could have been much worse.”
Hubbard said police would like to find the black car and issue the driver a citation for failure to yield, but they have fewdetails about the car.
