BRIGHAM CITY -- Police have released the name of a 59-year-old woman struck and killed by a car Thursday while walking with her three grandchildren.
The woman is identified as Debra Mercer of Brigham City.
Brigham City Police Lt. Dennis Vincent said 87-year-old Lorae Unger was driving north on Main Street and tried to turn left onto 700 South around 2:45 p.m. Thursday and collided with a car going south.
The impact of the crash forced Unger's car onto the sidewalk, where it hit Mercer and her granddaughters, aged 7, 4 and 2-year-old grandson The children, whose names were not released, were treated and released from Brigham City Hospital.
Charges are pending against Unger, Vincent said.
