I appreciated the March 31 article, "Dipping into the past," regarding the Fort Buenaventura rendezvous. Ogden has a rich heritage and we need to have stories about uplifting values, rather than stories about rap stars who spread negative rhetoric to unsuspecting children and teens. The newspaper prints a negative front page story and we wonder why the youth have gone wrong.
Let's remember this is still a Mormon community and that's just the way we and the descendants of the pioneers want it to stay. Let's not let Ogden go the way of so many other communities in our nation letting evil take over our value system.
Utah and Ogden have a rich heritage. This is what we need to display and teach our youth! The Standard should bring out the best stories here in northern Utah. This is a chosen land. We are God's holy people, never doubt it and have a nice day.
