Robert Hein of Roy will celebrate his 90th birthday. An open house will be held in his honor from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 6 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Roy Municipal Park Ward building, 5930 S. 2200 West, Roy.
He was born on April 6, 1923, in Ogden to Albert and Turah Hein. He married Ileene Flinders on Aug. 25, 1942, in Preston, Idaho. She died on March 5, 2004.
He served in the Army during World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion. He worked for 42 years at Felt Auto Parts.
He has enjoyed fishing and bowling. He enjoyed many weekends on the lake and many evenings bowling with his friends.
His children are Larry and Roseanne Hein, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Ken Hein (deceased); Mike and Julie Hein, Roy; and Diane and Champ Roach, Pahrump, Nev. He has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
