TOOELE -- Authorities say two people have serious burns after an explosion at a titanium processing plant in Tooele County.

Officials with Tooele County Emergency Services say they were informed about the explosion at ATI Rowley about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Tooele County Health Department said in a statement that a 53-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were treated on the scene for second-degree burns and were decontaminated by fire officials before being taken to a hospital.

Tooele County spokesman Wade Mathews says the workers may have been exposed to a mix of chemicals including tetrachloride-4, magnesium chloride and chlorine.
