My family and I were out camping this past Easter weekend in the desert by Locomotive Springs. A young couple were out looking for a place to camp for this upcoming weekend, and to their surprise, they found a female dog tied to a post by the side of the road with her seven, count them, seven puppies with no food or water. They were left out there for the coyotes or to just starve to death. First, who in their right mind would leave them out there in the first place? Take them to the shelter, silly.
The young couple came to our camp and asked my husband to give them the GPS coordinates and they called the sheriff. They were told that someone would be told about the dogs, and it might be the following day. Again, to my surprise the young couple waited for at least two hours for someone to come and pick up the dogs Finally, they got tired of waiting and put the mom and the seven puppies in the back of their small truck. The young lady stayed in the bed of the truck to keep the mom from jumping out. They drove to the Tremonton animal control to drop them off themselves.
Bad form to the person who left them out there to die, and good form to this young couple for taking the responsibility to get the animals to a place where good homes could be found for them and they could get love that they rightfully deserve.
