Ogden should keep the control tower at the airport manned after the FAA closes it in May. That way we will keep Allegiant Air Lines here. As Ogden gains in national recognition as an major outdoors sport center, other airlines and private jets will use the airport. Thus the airport will be cost neutral.
You can bet that Allegiant is negotiating with Provo (and the LDS Church) in order to fly missionaries to Mesa or San Francisco to change planes and avoid the mess at Salt Lake City airport.
If we don't keep the Ogden tower we may lose and Provo will gain the lost flights because of the safety of an operational tower.
