RIVERDALE -- Fatigue may have been a factor in a single-vehicle crash that killed a 56-year-old Ogden man Wednesday morning, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 15 at Mile Marker 339 near Riverdale.
Maurice Charlston was driving north on I-15 in a Ford Explorer when he veered to the right.
Troopers say he overcorrected to the left and the vehicle rolled four to five times. The vehicle sustained extensive damage in the crash.
Charlston was wearing his seatbelt, but died of his injuries at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The crash caused at least two minor fender-benders on I-15 when motorists slowed down to view the accident, said Trooper Lawrence Hopper. There were no injuries in those crashes.
Traffic was backed up near the initial Ford Explorer accident for about 90 minutes.
