WASHINGTON TERRACE -- At least the weather was nice in Washington Terrace.
While Friday was supposed to be one in a string of soggy spring days this weekend, the weather was instead cool and breezy, perfect for a trio of prep games Bonneville hosted in the afternoon.
However, the Lakers dropped all three contests.
The Bonneville baseball squad met Logan in a Region 5 contest. Spotting the Grizzlies a run early, the Lakers took a 2-1 lead in the third inning. It stayed that way until the fifth, when the Grizzlies scored five to put the game out of reach, winning 7-4.
Bonneville scored a pair in its final at-bat, but couldn't make up the difference.
Chase Nelson limited the Lakers to five hits to pick up the win on the mound for Logan. Brayden Richardson cracked three hits, while Marshall Hedin recorded a double.
Dakota Buckway took the loss. Kacey Cundick cracked a double for Bonneville.
In a non-league contest, Fremont buried Kearns 11-1 in a five-inning rout.
Bryson Roundy had three hits and four RBIS. He and Todd Bell each smacked tripples for the Silver Wolves.
Josh Payne earned the win with eight strikeouts over four innings, with Hunter Okerlund finished in relief.
* OGDEN 3, MORGAN 0: At Mount Ogden Park, Roque Ceja scored twice and Dayton Wright added a goal and an assists as the Tigers continued their unbeaten march through league action.
Ceja was playing first game after sitting out five games due to injury.
Dario Robles added two assists for Ogen, while Auggie Garcia made a big save to preserve the clean sheet.
* MURRAY 3, BONNEVILLE 2: At Washington Terrace, the Lakers dropped a tough back-and-forth battle with the Spartans when Murray scored the game-winner in stoppage time.
Sorie Marah and Hayden White had the goals for Bonneville.
* JUAN DIEGO 6, BONNEVILLE 4: At Washington Terrace, the Lakers dropped a battle with the Eagles. Cortney Porter doubled for Bonneville.
Juan Diego had 10 hits. Andy Hancock suffered the loss on the mound.
