OGDEN -- Fire crews responded to an IRS building Friday night after smoke filled the cafeteria.
Weber Fire District Capt. Travis Peterson said the smoke was caused by a faulty light ballast that burned nearby wires and insulation. The building, on Rulon White Boulevard, was evacuated. It was estimated that 75 to 100 people were inside.
Peterson said there was an electrical odor and a light smoke haze in the building. One person was transported to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
