SALT LAKE CITY -- Online registration is open for the 10th Annual Utah Tourism Conference to be May 14-16 at the Dixie Convention Center in St. George.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Utah Office of Tourism and the Utah Tourism Industry Coalition.
Tourism drives the state economy with jobs and tax revenues making it important for all industry partners to gather annually, said Vicki Varela, managing director of the Utah Office of Tourism, Film, and Global Branding, an agency of the Governor's Office of Economic Development.
This year's conference agenda includes sessions on domestic and international marketing, research trends, social media and a legislative update.
The conference is an excellent opportunity for businesses around the state to learn about what is new in the industry, say travel council officials.
Entries and nominations are also being accepted for the Utah Tourism Hall of Fame Awards and the new 2013 Best Ideas in Advertising and Marketing Contest.
The deadline for Hall of Fame nominations is April 26 with details available online at http://utahtourism.org/.
The awards are to be presented at the conference.
