SALT LAKE CITY -- A 40-year-old Utah woman arrested in a crime spree that ended with police fatally shooting her alleged partner may have been involved in nearly a dozen robberies throughout the Salt Lake Valley.

Sandra Chotia-Thompson has been formally charged in connection with holdups at The Grocery Store in Salt Lake City and a Scaddy's Restaurant and Family Dollar Store in Murray.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that police search warrants show they investigated Chotia-Thompson and 38-year-old Kelley Fay Simons as suspects in crimes in at least eight other places.

Simons was shot to death near Liberty Park on Jan. 9 when she allegedly tried to run down an officer with her pickup. Inside the truck, officers discovered bullets, cartridges and a clown mask believed to have been used in holdups.
