Ruth Ann and Vern larsen

Vern and Ruth Ann Larsen of Pleasant View celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family, attending a session in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Brigham City Temple, followed by dinner at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant. They will also enjoy a family reunion this summer.
They were married April 7, 1953, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was born April 30, 1931, to Harvey Martin Larsen and Annie May Shaw. He served an LDS mission in Canada. He served in the Korean War for two years. He worked for 38 years as a brick contractor and retired after 10 years with the Internal Revenue Service. He has served in many bishoprics and held many church callings. He received the Award of Merit for his years with the Scouting program.
She was born April 4, 1932, to Earl John Rhees and Ruth Cragun. She retired after 25 years with Weber County School District. She says that she has great love and respect for the ladies with whom she worked. She has held many church callings, including Young Women’s presidency, Primary presidency, Relief Society and others.
They have enjoyed the years they spent as temple ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple. They now index for the FamilySearch Indexing project. Their interests are the outdoors, gardening, fishing, camping, cooking and sewing.
Their children and spouses are Deanne and Royce Woolstenhulme, Dale and UnHui Larsen, Brent and Ronna Larsen, Sandra and Dan Mann, Sheri and Don Petersen, Jan and Paul Tribe, and David and Becky Larsen. They have 40 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren. They say it has been a wonderful life.
