OGDEN -- The St. Joseph boys soccer team turned back Wendover by an 8-0 score Monday afternoon in 2-A Central league action at Lew Joseph Field.
The game was 2-0 at the half, but the Jayhawks turned on the jets after the break, led in part by goalkeeper Mitch Koehler.
As you may have surmised, Koehler wasn't in goal.
Koehler had three goas and an assist in a rare match at forward, while David Donlevy tallied four goals and a pair of assists for the Jayhawks, who improved to 5-0-1 in league action, 6-1-3 overall.
"It was good team effort all the way around," St. Joseph coach Derek Tate said after the contest.
Garrett Bina earned the shutout in goal, his second of the season. Tate used the game to get Bina more work in goal, and Koehler some time at forward.
Brendon Daley had the other goal for St. Joseph.
The Jayhawks play at rival Rowland Hall on Wednesday in a match that could firm up St. Joseph's shot at top seed in the upcoming state tournament.
