LAYTON -- A Salt Lake City company has been awarded the bid to maintain and replace street lights.
In action taken recently, the city council awarded the city's annual street light installation and maintenance contract to Hunt Electric for $156,069. The project involves installing lights for the city lighting project, and for new subdivisions, which have purchased city lights. Hunt was one of nine companies to bid for the project.
Public Works Director Terry Coburn said funding for the light installations for new subdivisions comes from developers, not from city coffers.
