PLEASANT VIEW -- An exception to home/occupation sign conditions was recently approved by council members. The change allows a business sign on an outbuilding for a photography studio, rather than on the home on the property located at approximately 835 W. Pleasant View Drive.

Bob Dempsey, who is the owner of the business said his photography is all digital and he will not be using chemicals.

“The home occupation license allows a small sign on or against the dwelling,” said Community Development Director Bruce Talbot. “It cannot be out on the street. The intent of the ordinance is to have the sign, but it must be on the building or home; it’s reasonable on either.”
